Stacey Dubois
About Stacey's Research & Interests:
Within cognitive psychology, my research interests revolve around the human memory system, focusing specifically on metamemory--knowledge of one's own memory processes--and the relationship between subjective experience and memory accuracy. I am currently investigating various factors that influence the "feeling of knowing"--the familiar sensation that we have a piece of information stored in memory, even if it is not currently accessible.

Christine Lattin

About Christine's Research & Interests:
My current research is on intra-cellular receptors for the stress hormone corticosterone in wild House Sparrows. We have learned quite a lot about these receptors in the brain, but not as much is known about what is going on in the periphery (for example, in the liver, muscles, etc.). It has become clear by looking at receptors for estrogen and testosterone that sometimes these hormones act directly on the periphery rather than via the brain. When intra-cellular receptors bind to stress hormones they cause DNA transcription to take place and new proteins to be made, so understanding them can help us better understand how the physiological stress response helps our bodies cope with stressful situations, and also how too much stress can lead to health problems.

About Chris' Research & Interests:
Chris Napolitano is a graduate student anin the Applied Child Development MA/PhD program within the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development at Tufts University. Currently, he is a Graduate Research Assistant for the Thrive Foundation Intentional Self Regulation Project within the Institute for Applied Research in Youth Development. He earned bachelors degrees in Human Development and History from Boston College (2008, Alpha Sigma Nu, Pi Lambda Theta, Phi Alpha Theta), and was the Lynch School of Education's Finnegan Award Nominee. Chris' primary research interests include the development of technologically based, locally influenced Positive Youth Development interventions in Sub-Saharan Africa and elsewhere.

About Elizabeth's Research & Interests:
At Fletcher, I am specializing in the fields of humanitarian studies and international organizations. I am interested in better understanding the relationship between states and the United Nations at the country-level, how learning and change occur in those relationships over time, and how humanitarian NGOs and UN agencies operate in humanitarian emergencies.

Rebecca Walsh
About Rebecca's Research & Interests:

I am interested in bacterial pathogenesis and infectious diseases. In its human host, Streptococcus pneumoniae lives in an optimal environment. Outside of the host, environmental stresses - such as drying or temperature - make survival more difficult. My goal is to study changes in bacterial gene expression caused by environmental stresses, and determine if S. pneumoniae's ability to survive such stresses has implications for human-to-human disease transmission.

I am interested in microRNAs, which are small non-coding RNAs that negatively regulate gene expression.  Specifically, I am interested in the mechanisms by which the transforming growth factor-B (TGF-B) family of proteins regulates microRNAs.
