UCGE Meeting Minutes – May 28, 2008

Present: Barry Trimmer (chair), Arthur Donohue-Rolfe, Vincent Manno, Peter Uvin, Deborah Kochevar (Dean, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine)
Meeting convened 12:00PM
1) Dean Kochevar shared her thoughts on the Cummings graduate programs in light of the draft Structuring Ph.D. document. She was in strong agreement with the document’s directions. She offered specific recommendation for heightened attention to technology solutions to the multi-campus distance issues.
2) Discussion of draft companion recommendation to the document focused on near term actions. Barry will circulate second draft via email.
3) Agreement to revisit interdisciplinary research and education as a main topic next academic year.
Meeting adjourned 2:30PM.
