About Devin's Research & Interests:
I am a doctoral student at The Fletcher School. My doctoral research is centered on how nonstate armed groups (terrorists, insurgents, militias, and organized criminals) use deception as an element of their strategy against states. I am specifically researching whether barriers exist that keep nonstate armed groups from employing deception on strategic levels. My general academic interests are in the fields of international security studies, negotiation and conflict resolution, and international organizations. I live with my wife and daughter in Arlington, MA.
